Our Story

Bridging Tradition And Innovation To Create Culturally Competent Nutrition Care For All

Who We Are

The NutriNetwork is a nutrition education and consultation firm advancing health equity through culturally competent care.

For Communities & Families: We provide nutrition counseling and coaching that helps individuals and families manage health conditions and improve well-being without being told to give up their cultural foods or traditions.

For Organizations: We equip healthcare systems, nonprofits, universities, and corporations with training and tools to deliver culturally relevant nutrition education at scale.

At The NutriNetwork, we believe food is more than fuel — it is culture, memory, and resilience. Our work bridges nutrition science with cultural foodways, helping close gaps in health outcomes while supporting compliance, grant reporting, and long-term sustainability for partner organizations.

Our mission is simple yet transformative: to redefine nutrition as inclusive, culturally rooted, and equity-driven — creating healthier communities for generations to come.

Our Core Values

Cultural Competence

We honor and integrate diverse food traditions, recognizing that nutrition advice must be culturally relevant to be effective.

Innovation

We leverage AI and technology to scale culturally competent care, making it accessible to organizations and communities worldwide.

Impact

We measure success by the health outcomes we help create and the communities we empower through better nutrition education.

Our Vision For Technology

While we're proud of the personalized care we provide to individuals and families, we recognized a critical gap: most nutrition professionals and community health workers lack the training and resources to provide culturally competent care.

That's why we're building an AI-powered training platform and global food database. Our technology serves as the "glue" that connects workforce training with practical, client-facing tools—enabling organizations like SNAP-Ed programs, healthcare systems, and nonprofits to deliver culturally informed nutrition education at scale.

Starting with 15 major non-Western cuisines and expanding globally, we're creating a comprehensive resource that respects food traditions while promoting health and wellness.

Meet The Founder

Liz Dickerson

Founder & CEO

Hi, I'm Liz Dickerson, Founder & CEO of The NutriNetwork. I am a Nutrition Strategist and Public Health Professional with a passion for reshaping how we talk about and deliver nutrition.

My journey started in my own family. When my grandmother was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, she was given generic recommendations that didn't reflect her cultural foods or traditions. That gap between "advice" and real-life culture made it harder for her to manage her health — and opened my eyes to a bigger issue: too often, nutrition frameworks exclude the very communities most impacted by chronic disease.

I've lived this reality both personally and professionally. Growing up in a community with limited resources, I saw firsthand how social and environmental factors create barriers to health. Later, in healthcare and public health roles, I realized that many programs and policies still overlook social determinants of health and cultural foodways.

These experiences shaped my mission: to make nutrition solutions equitable, practical, and culturally competent.

Today, through The NutriNetwork, I partner with healthcare systems, nonprofits, universities, and community organizations to build strategies that honor culture, strengthen trust, and drive measurable health outcomes. Together, we're working to redefine nutrition as inclusive, culturally rooted, and equity-driven — creating healthier communities for generations to come.
